Carnality In The Church
I've been looking for this video for a while. I have to caution myself in this area of ministry. Paul Washer communicates this bluntly, and clearly on why we should be cautioned about doing this. Ministry leaders have a mandate to preach the gospel; not cater to the fleshly. God help us. If you find yourself being either one of these: Ministry leader who caters to the carnal, or the carnal one wanting attention in the wrong way, please repent and wake up! Eternity is at stake.
Samuel's Birthday
We celebrated Samuel's 4th birthday by going to see Monster's University! It was such a cute movie and Samuel's favorite character was Mike. Afterward we came back home to open presents and eat cake.
Berry Picking With a View
A day of berry picking on Saturday. It was Daddy's weekend so it was his idea to go to the vineyard. It is such a beautiful drive just to get there and then the view is breathtaking. There are seats to sit and just take it all in. Raspberries were ready but we'll have to go back for blueberries and blackberries. I took the pictures instead of picking and my most favorite is the very last one. I took it as we were leaving and I love how it turned out!!!
Sarah's 5
May 23rd was our sweet little Sarah's big day. We celebrated all day on Friday. She got to pick out her brand new bike and pick out some other things with her birthday money. For lunch we enjoyed pizza at the park and everyone had a great day playing in the beautiful (windy) weather. When we came out we grilled out for her birthday at her request. Later cake and presents!!!! We had a very full day of celebration but it was also very low key and one that I really enjoyed spending with our birthday girl and the rest of the family. We decided this year to make a few changes in how we celebrate. Instead of a "surprise theme" we are letting each birthday person plan their special day!!! Sarah's day went just how she wanted. Her two requests were flowers from Daddy and a Happy Birthday balloon. A very easy girl to please!!! Happy 5th Birthday to Sarah!!!
Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!
_
Easter Sunday started out early for us. Not used to moving so quickly at 5:30. We had some going to early service and others for late and then a few got a double dose of singing and preaching. Katie's solo was a song by Keith and Kristyn Getty. Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!!! This was also Sarah's first time to sing with the children's choir. She was a bit scared. So many memories of past Easter Sundays filled my mind that day. Some memories from my own childhood. Things I took for granted and now they're just memories. Other thoughts of past Sundays when our older kids were still little. We tried to focus on the death and resurrection throughout the weekend. Having long conversations with the older children and even some with the younger ones. Trying to understand the pain and suffering he went through for us. Sarah and Samuel kept talking about the cross and the nails. Trying to understand it in their young little minds. I love to see them learning more and more from the Bible. So many new faces on Easter Sunday at church many we may never see again. Praying for those that were unbelievers. Praying that something they heard will help them know their need for a Savior.
